How To Reduce The Stress

The first thing to do is figure out the distinction between stress and pressure. Everyone has their own sources of pressure, may it be big or small. Sources of pressure can be anything, from work or lack of it, to family and personal finances and health.

Stress is then described as our reaction and response to such pressures. How well we handle such pressures is also called stress. With too much self-imposed stress, our mental, physical, and emotional well-being will suffer. Besides our health deteriorating, we also suffer from depression and we have a harder time controlling our anger. The worst is that chemical escapes or even suicides become a possibility.

Remember that events or situations are based on our thought filters. If we look at the present as distorted or flawed, then we imagine a distorted future which in turn is a sad sight. Thank goodness the future isn't set in stone. The future has a lot of variables.

We're still guilty of doing it and convince ourselves that what we've projected is reality. This is also because those images seem so real in our minds no matter how horrible they seem. The subconscious mind is tricked into believing these are facts. Unless we stop thinking about these images or the emotions associated to it, then they will become even more real.

Our worst fears becomes a reality when we allow ourselves to do and say the things needed in order for it to materialize. We did it to ourselves, and it's up to us to stop it.

How can we stop it?

First, we need to remember that we are responsible for our thoughts and emotions and that we have control of their intensity. That's when we take steps to help reduce the pressure. If you concentrate more on the positive things, then you'll be able to move away from negativity and the pressures it can produce.

The next thing we need to do is face our problems and figure out how to control them. Determine first the basic problem by looking at the pressures one at a time, then figure out a plan to solve this problem. Change is a must, whether it's us or the situation. It's time to decide which needs changing and do something about it. It's the only way for change to occur. Perhaps the results are not what we expect, but it can still mean that in the future it will help us improve our lives.
